Hi.

For those of you know follow my Tweets or Facebook messages, you will know that I am a huge football fan and especially for my beloved England.

The problem is we are a bit crap (as in very) and the last time we won anything was 1966. Back then I was a mere itch in my Dad’s pants, a smile on my Mum’s face and even though I might have watched the full 120 minutes World Cup final sitting alongside the angels in heaven, my biggest fear is the next time we reach a final I will be back there wearing my wings again.

The odds are this will be in another 40+ years time and so now I am able to approach my enjoyment of the World Cup with a pinch of salt.

Actually make that a bucket!

We have the usual antics going on.

Our captain Rio Ferdinand got injured by the most clumsy centre forward of all time Emile Heskey who is an awesome addition  to our front line except for his inability to score goals.

And there’s more…

  • John Terry has a wandering willy
  • Frank Lampard has missed his last few penalties
  • Our new captain Steven Gerrard has experienced his worst ever season in charge of Liverpool.
  • Ashley Cole wants to jack in footie since his popstar wife Cheryl  legged it.

etc

etc

etc

Our only hope lies in Wayne Rooney getting the ball from David James BEFORE he drops it into his own net and running the full length of the pitch to score.

If he can do this about 3 times per match, we stand a chance.

Anyway, despite the realities, I will be wearing my 3 Lions shirt with pride at every opportunity as I always do.

On a happier front, the advertising for this South African world cup is fab.

I borrowed thsi list from the Mirror in the UK to give you a smile as you cheerfully waste 25 mins…
