More about reinventing yourself…

. . . December 19th, 2009 by admin

Last night I was DJing in Waxys in Dubai.

DJ Shaft is back!

DJ Shaft is back!

9 years ago I said that I would never DJ again.

A quiet summer and a call from a friend made me change that all that.

I’m glad that I did.

I am having a blast in there.

I get to do what I want and be who I want to be when people are at their most frenetic.

This allows me to be extra calm and focused on my other work which complements the more holistic side of me.

You should do this yourself.

What did you enjoy doing in the past, that you’d thought you’d grown out of?

Have a think…

Got it?

Do it again. Now.

It’s all part of Life Design and I am loving the journey.

Here is the final part  (3) of my interview with John Deykin on Face To Face.

The previous parts have all been shown on the last 2 days of this blog.

I also promised to give the final 5 secret tips about how to achieve happiness and programme it into your life.

6) Spend more time looking after your body. Also eat more organic and fresh produce, detox once in a while, drink less booze and take regular exercise. The happy endorphins which kick in after an hour of body-pump gym class are the same as those after walking up the stairs. Just work out home much you actually want and go get them.

7) Recalculate your work/life balance. How much time do you devote to your most important internal driving forces? Can you alter the mix and make it more evenly matched or at least take regular action to cater for an ignored but required element? Investigate the following areas.

Life Purpose – Friends & Family – Money – Happiness – Confidence – Health – Career – Romance

8)      Remember that happiness isn’t directly reflected by bank balance or social status. The things that give you most pleasure are rarely because they cost so much or because of what other people think of you when you do them. Are you happier than your gardener? Was your most pleasurable time making your first million or first child?

9)      Start appreciating life. Just watch CNN to learn how lucky we are to be alive and how many of the wonderful things we take for granted that the majority of the world doesn’t have. Give gratitude and pass on great experiences to those who least expect it whilst not wanting anything back in return.

10)   Get a Noble Goal. Emotional Intelligence organization 6 Seconds advocates creating a self-less life purpose which means a lot to you and benefits others. Think of a perfect one for you which inspires you, ties up with your values, beliefs and mission. The more you do of it the happier you will feel. Allow yourself to make decisions based on whether you get closer to achieving your noble goal. It will make you feel incredible.

It works.

Big time.

Last thing today is a reminder to come to my show

I will be doing ONE NIGHT ONLY so don’t wait until last minute!

YOU DON’T WANNA MISS THIS!!!

Tomorrow I will be working on the routines and giving them a very Christmassy feel.

Here’s the ad from my last show at the Mall of The Emirates.

I will see you there.

Off this morning to watch Avatar or as my good friend George Hopkin calls it

‘Battlefield Smurf’ or ‘Dances With Smurfs’ .

I can’t wait. I have to catch the earliest showing so there is less chance of noisy buggers on cellphones messing things up.

I’ll let you know what I think tomorrow…

Meanwhile.

I’ll leave you with the trailer.

Have a great day.

Laters…
